MIA

So Gabrielle missed us. We got NO rain whatsoever. I’ve pretty much resigned to the fact that my garden is done for the year. Our area is nearly twenty inches low on rainfall now, so it’s pretty widespread unfortunately. We have a cold front coming in from the northwest & a tropical mass leaking from [...]

Storms make me happy

Especially when our rainfall is very nearly nineteen inches below the norm! Gabby is only a sub tropical storm, but she could strengthen into a hurricane & I’d still welcome her with open arms. Hell, all a hurricane means for me is LOTS of knitting time & I have a sweater among other things [...]

Teak wood furniture

When looking for outdoor furniture, one looks for durability first & foremost. Appearance is also a huge factor in deciding which outdoor furniture to go with. We’re going to be eating fresh cabbage soon!

The melons are blooming, I caught some open since I went out early enough.

The lavender has really grown in the last few [...]

In gardens, beauty is a by-product

My Hybrid tomato plant hasn’t quite recovered from Hornworms yet, the fruits are pretty proficient, though! My basil is blooming.

So are the cantaloupes!

The cabbages are starting to grow their heads. We’ve had to handpick a few critters off the undersides. They haven’t come back, but I’ll be checking every few days.

We’re getting wild blackberries! [...]
