Kimono of Many Colors

10:19am on the 23rd of August, 2008

Thought I would make another quick post this week.

I’ve finished knitting the Seamless Infant Kimono. I do have to weave in ends, add buttons with loop enclosures, and block (eventually). I love how the colors pooled so symmetrically. Plus, it looks stellar with the matching longies!

I also began a Freckle Mermaid Skirt for Ella. She about DIED when she saw the pattern. I figured I’d make her a few for school. The yarn is a DK weight, it’s Little Turtle Knits 3-ply wool custom dye I call “Little Hula Girl.” I am thinking of using superwash or something else washable for the next one. I’m about 60% on it currently as I’m nearing the end of the “scale” stitch patterning. Really fun to knit while watching the Beijing Olympics.

What pattern are you using for the Mermaid skirt?

Caroline- Oops, I really should have linked it! You can find the Freckle Mermaid Skirt/Soaker Sack pattern here. :)

  4. Very cute!! Love the colors. Maybe one day I will learn to knit clothes instead of just beaded purses, lol.
