As I have posted previously in this blog, my maternal grandfather suffers from dementia related to Alzheimer’s Disease. Sadly, my family doesn’t expect him to last until Christmas of next year (2008). My most fervent desire is that The Alzheimer’s Association will find a cure for Alzheimer’s very soon.

World Alzheimer’s Day was September twenty first. In honor of World Alzheimer’s Day, I would like to tell you about how you can help contribute to this noble cause by hosting a Purple Party during the month of September or beyond. When you host a Purple Party, you can help The Alzheimer’s Association to collect donated funds (their goal is to reach one million dollars in donations) to help raise awareness, find a cure & put an end to the ever tragic Alzheimer’s Disease.

When you decide to host a Purple Party, the first step is registering at ActionALZ. ActionALZ allows for Purple Party hosts to create their own web page for their party. If you agree to raise one hundred & fifty dollars, you get a party kit for FREE! Your guests can donate online, which makes donating quick & easy. ALL donations raised in September will be matched dollar for dollar by The Harrah’s Foundation.
