Toucan BFL longies

This particular pair of longies were knit with Cuddle Me’s Toucan on Blue Face Leicester yarn. I scored these two balls of Toucan from Lily Pad Landing late last summer. The legs are the same length, I assure you.. I just cuffed one of them. Speaking of cuffs, I’ve been bored with the same old rolled, ribbed, seed stitch, & other boring options, so I did these cuffs in a “hurdle rib” stitch. I plan to start a series of different cuff styles & how to knit them soon, so stay tuned!
These size large longies were knit by me from my very own pattern featuring a drawstring-less waistband. I really don’t like drawstrings & find them only a nuisance as well as distracting from such a lovely hand knit item. With my pattern, I have adapted these knit pants to fit over bulky cloth diapers & to grow with the child, that way you get MANY months of wear from them. The waistbands allow for folding down if there is a need for an extra snug fit throughout the waist & hips. No, I don’t sell my patterns. ![]()
