If I go to California for a visit, I’d really rather not stay at some hotel. Hotels are cold & impersonal- I’d much prefer a warm, homey environment when I stay somewhere on vacation. I think since I already live so close to the ocean, I’d rather stay in the mountains. I have only been to the Rockies once many years ago when I visited relatives in Colorado, I would LOVE to see the mountains again! Giving up an oceanside hotel is worth it when you rent vacation homes in Big Bear because they have a swim beach, park & lake all within walking distance!

Plenty of things to do for kids who bore easily when you rent a vacation home in Big Bear like internet access, video games, movie channels, CD & DvD players in airy, large homelike rooms. Although I highly doubt we’d be hanging out at the home much, we’d be exploring the Rockies!
