Parenting teens

When my children are teens, I know that new, inevitable parenting struggles will ensue. This is all just part of being a parent, after all they can’t stay young forever!
I remember all the issues I struggled with as a teen- depression being the biggest, being given anti-depressants made me suicidal & I tried to take my life. I was also anorexic. The more stress I had, the less I ate (or even wanted to). Being in a drama school & attempting a modeling career while helping my parents with my siblings & trying to keep good grades in school was rough on me. It never occurred to me that I was trying to take on too much at my young age!
I am sure that if my parents had Troubled Teen Help that my teen years would have been less of a sore trial on us all. ParentingTeens.com also offers other topics such as: teen health, education, teen drug abuse, tips for parenting teens, & other teen issues. All the articles are written by parents of teens who wish to share what they have learned & experienced. You can also share your experiences & opinions with any of the topics on the website.

Thanks for the post Momma A, some of the articles on the site you suggested are better than I had expected. I was particularly inspired by one that talked about spending more time with your kids, and have decided that I am going up to a lake this afternoon with my son to spend the weekend. I think he’ll love it, and it will be good to have some one on one time with him. We have been considering several different treatment options for troubled teens lately, but maybe just being together will do the trick…who knows.
