Our 4th
9:00am on the 5th of July, 2007
I didn’t let on ahead of time, but we were visiting out of town family along with celebrating the 4th of July with Mom & Dad. We stayed at Grandma’s house Tuesday night because K had yesterday off! I don’t remember him having a July 4th off before. We had a great time eating & swimming. I didn’t take photos this time, my mother in law sure did, though.
I’m paying for all the eating now, some of it was things I don’t usually eat. Apparently the odor of steamed shrimp makes me ill. I tried to eat one, but really don’t like the consistency. Noah didn’t like it, Ella ate some & that really surprised me. I’ve never been a shelled seafood person- it’s fish I love.
I sure like coming home to a moderately clean home. Makes my week- sad as that is. *lol* I really should go water my garden- it’s been neglected between the vacation to Charlotte & the 4th!

I understand the aversion to shellfish. Not myself mind you, but my husband and one of my children. I grew up with steamed clams here on the east coast. My husband is a Native American from the midwest, maybe its just genetic, But he can’t stand the smell, the sight and most especially the taste of steamed clams, but admits its mostly a texture issue.
