Peaceful country living

It’s still the weekend for me right now. K took the day off to get a few things done. It’s his first day off (besides his normal Sundays off) since we had Dane, so I think he’s quite due for one. Sunday was pretty eventful (to us) as we got our garden plotted & ready to till, drove around in the country, & did some recipe hunting then grocery shopping.
I am hoping to get all the garden needs next weekend. I’d also like to look at paint chips for the walls of all the rooms & go to the craft store for new painting supplies (all my old stuff got left behind when I moved to OK). I am going to do a painting for each kid & one for the dining room. Eventually, I’ll have my art splattered all over my walls! We need a few miscellaneous things, too- like a door hinge & two curtain rods.
We plan on replacing some furniture in the next few years. We really could use a new bed & bookcase for our room, a new rocking chair & entertainment “armoire” for the living room. I don’t want another entertainment center- EVER. I have the perfect thing in mind- but I have yet to find one. It would be like an over-sized dresser with two large drawers (one or both of which would LOCK). I want it to be black or black-stained (same with our bed & bookcase). Not picky at all, am I? :weird:
The eventual plan is something that will convert to a side-table with storage since K wants a plasma-screen to hang over the fireplace.
Dana’s been started on solids since about a week before he hit seven months. So far, he was ready the earliest of all three. He’s had oatmeal, bananas, apples, & he is about to try sweet potatoes. I prefer to make his food. That way I know exactly what’s in it & how fresh it is :cheery:
It’s hard to believe that Ella will be three in about 5 weeks or so. Wow.

That’s so exciting about Dane eating solids so early. And about Ella being 3 soon. Just wow you know.
When you get the painting done, I hope you post pics.
I know! When did they grow up!
Oh you can be sure of that
